Private Investigators like myself call links to terrorist organizations, close association to known terrorists and speaking of suicide bombers in a favorable manner as clues to an individuals mind set. The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported that the Imam at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton had been the roommate of Al-Qaeda procurement agent Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa before he came to Sarasota in March of 2000 or that Imam Muneer Arafat was arrested by ICE and the FBI in November 2002 and sent to testify before a Federal Grand Jury in St Louis investigating 9/11 terrorist links.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune also never reported that Imam Muneer Arafat and his terrorist linked pal Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa were fund raisers for the Holy Land Foundation in Texas a front for the Hamas terrorist organization. It is no coincidence that Al-Qaeda linked Imam Muneer Arafat shows up at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton in the spring of 2000 and into 2003. It is no coincidence that Al-Qaeda linked Imam Muneer Arafat shows up in Sarasota Fl just prior to Mohamed Atta and his two 9/11 hijack pals showing up in June of 2000. Sarasota FBI Special Agent Thomas R. Baugher, who I met on several occasions at the Sarasota Police Department Intel Division during 2002 and 2003, told me that there are “Never Any Coincidences in Terrorism”.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported that Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat and Ziyad Sadaqa aka Ziyad Khaleel had raised $20,000 for the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) in Texas. On May 27th, 2009, U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis sentenced the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) president and five of its leaders following their convictions by a federal jury in November 2008 on charges of providing material support to Hamas a designated terrorist organization. HLF was incorporated by Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, and Ghassan Elashi. Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh worked as fund raisers, they all received individual prison terms from 15 years up to 65 years, Muneer Arafat escaped prison time.
Sarasota Herald Tribune Never Reported Arrest of Imam Muneer Arafat or His Testimony at a Federal Grand Jury Terrorism Investigation in St Louis or His Undercover Work For FBI in 2002. The November 20th, 2002 arrest of Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat was front page news in St Louis on January 20th, 2003. On the other hand the Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported the November 2002 arrest of Imam Muneer Arafat by Federal Agents in Sarasota Fl for overstaying his visa.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported that after his November 2002 arrest Muneer Arafat was required to give testimony at a Federal Grand Jury Terrorism Investigation in St Louis concerning links to the 9/11 attacks and information about his former Al-Qaeda linked roommate Ziyad Sadqua aka Ziyad Khaeel. “One witnesses was Muneer Arafat, who formerly lived in the St Louis area and moved in 2000 to Sarasota, Fla where he was the Imam of a mosque, Arafat is a Kuwaiti of Palestinian descent”.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported on the undercover work (wearing a wire) Muneer Arafat did for the FBI in 2002 regarding a group of Sarasota Muslim businessmen and their links to a terrorism support network. Muneer Arafat was the Imam at the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque at 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota Fl from March of 2000 to the end of 2003. Mohamed Atta and other 9/11 Hijackers followed Muneer Arafat to the Sarasota area in June of 2000. The Sarasota Saudi al-Hiijjii Family had been members of the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque, where Muneer Arafat was the Imam, from at least 1996 until their departure in August 2001. It would not be unreasonable to maintain that Muneer Arafat also visited the 4224 Escondito Circle house as he was the al-Hiijjii family’s Imam or Holy Man from March 2000 to August 2001.
In St. Louis, from 1996 to 2000, Muneer Arafat became a well-known lecturer at different Masjids and built up quite a following. He gave lectures at local mosques that almost exclusively focused on Jihad week in and week out and this got him into trouble with Sheikh Muhammad Nur of the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis who at one point banned him from giving lectures at the Gateway Masjid. Muneer Arafat was preaching terrorism, OK to be a suicide bomber. From open court records in Tampa during the Sami al-Arian trial it has been revealed that Muneer Arafat had become an informant for the US Department of Justice (FBI) and they had paid him $35,000 to spy (wear a wire) on a group of Muslim businessmen in Sarasota Fl during 2002, “The FBI Secret Sarasota Saudi Investigation.”
During the time frame of March 2000 to August 2001 the Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota Fl was home to Jihad preaching Imam Muneer Arafat whose prior roommate in East St. Louis was Osama bin-Laden’s Al-Qaeda procurement agent Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa. Wherever Imam Muneer Arafat went his close friend and often roommate Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa was not far behind.
The short list of Muslims directly linked to terrorism who visited the Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton (ISSB) during the time frame are Jihad preaching Muneer Arafat seen sitting in photo above, terrorist Wissam Hammound (in prison), Al-Qaeda leader Adnan El-Shukrijumah, Abdulaziz al-Hijji (who met with 9/11 hijackers in his Sarasota Home), Sami Al-Arian (arrested and jailed) and Mazen Al-Najjar (deported). FDLE documents stated that imprisoned terrorist Wissam Hammoud told the FBI in 2004 that Abdulaziz al-Hijji was an acolyte of Osama bin Laden who prior to 9/11 had introduced him to terrorist Adnan el-Shukrijumah at a soccer game at the Sarasota mosque, Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd.
Wissam Hammoud told investigators that he often exercised with Abdulaziz al-Hijji and that the two played soccer together on property surrounding a Sarasota mosque with Al-Qaeda terrorist Adnan El-Shukrijumah “….FDLE reports buttress key elements of the story, while providing new details: Sarasota cell phone store owner Wissam Hammoud said the two men worked out together at Shapes Fitness in Sarasota. Hammoud stated he met ALHIJJI through his own relatives in Sarasota, (the Kazbour’s) in 1996. He described ALHIJJI as a heavy drinker and smoker of cannabis, however very well schooled in Islam.
Sarasota cell phone store owner Wissam Hammoud indicated that ALHIJJI’S wife ANWD GHAZZAWI (maiden name) had family that provided her with money. He told the FBI Al-Hijji that “Osama bin Laden was a hero of al-Hijji.” He added that Al-Hijji showed him a “website containing information about bin Laden,” and spoke of “going to Afghanistan and becoming a freedom fighter.” Al-Hijji also tried to recruit him, Hammoud said. According to Hammoud, al-Hijji also talked of “taking flight training in Venice.” He said he believed “al-Hijji had known some of the terrorists from the September 11, 2001 attacks” who were students at an airport there. The “Sarasota Mosque” is the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center on Lockwood Ridge Rd, at the time (6/2000 to 1/2001) the Holy Man at the mosque was Al-Qaeda linked Imam Muneer Arafat, see http://billwarnermyblog.wordpress.com/2013/08/17/sarasota-imam-muneer-arafat-linked-to-al-qaeda-agents-in-usa-turned-fbi-informant-appears-to-be-now-in-the-federal-witness-protection-program-wth/.
The Al-Hijjis, photo above, were married in May 1995 at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton, they had been in the Sarasota Fl area for at least 6 years prior to 9/11/2001, plenty of time to set up a base of operations for Mohamed Atta and other members of the 9/11 hijackers. Abdulaziz Al-Hijji, DOB 12/28/19723, as per a unpaid parking ticket in Manatee County Fl, was driving a 1999 tan Jeep with Fl Tag VAS14W and had Fl Drivers license number A420001734680 with a issue date of 09-12-1995, he got a duplicate Fl drivers license in 1997, 1998 and 2000. Wissam Hammoud himself, speaking from prison, said al-Hijji “had a lot of hatred towards everyone in America.” He said he had thought al-Hijji “nuts” when he asked him to go fight in Afghanistan. Wissam Hammoud’s 2003 charges were solicitation to commit murder, retaliating against a witness, use of a firearm during a crime of violence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, he could have got LIFE. Wissam T. Hammoud is currently in the Federal Correctional Insititute in Milan MI, a low security federal correctional institution with a detention center, with a release date of 2023, he will be 57. Hammoud agreed to cooperate in unspecified investigations.
